Daalarna Garden is a magical place to be in the winter months. The cold romance, the frozen landscape and the icy beauty create a magical atmosphere around the estate, which is absolutely beautiful. This is one of the reasons why we think that Daalarna Garden can be the perfect location for winter weddings.

The most important thing to do during the wedding preparations is to choose the exact date of the wedding. This is the time when the couple decide what dress, decorations and flowers they want for the big day as well as where they want to have the wedding celebration! Although most brides and grooms prefer summer ceremonies, more and more are opting for the cold romance, icy beauty and snowy illusion of winter weddings. This is evidenced by the 1.5 million hits on social media for the hashtag #winterwedding!

However, while there are couples who want to make their engagement more memorable with a December/January wedding (or simply want a winter wedding), there are also some who are unsure about the possibilities of a winter wedding. We would like to help them understand why a winter wedding at Daalarna Garden (located in Szentendre, Hungary) is the perfect choice!

Magical winter wonderland views from Daalarna Garden

Most couples choose Daalarna Garden as the venue for their winter wedding because the panoramic views are simply spectacular! When the estate is covered in a snowy, frozen landscape, surrounded by almost nothing but snow-covered whiteness, it makes for an absolutely beautiful scene, a magical winter wedding.

The Atrium of the estate is covered with glass panels, so you can enjoy the perfect view of winter wonderland

You don’t have to worry about not being able to enjoy the winter scenery on your wedding day. Daalarna Garden’s Atrium is completely covered with glass panels. The Winter Garden can also be used as a 100% isolated windowed space, so it’s just like having your wedding outside!

There are several internal rooms available inside

Although Daalarna Garden’s five hectares of grounds are wonderful to enjoy in winter if you fancy a little warming up or an indoor ceremony, it can be perfectly organized! Daalarna Garden has a 160 m² Stone House, a 200 m² Winter Garden, a 140 m² Atrium and a 110 m² Barn, which can be used however the couple wants to celebrate their winter wedding.

Dinner in the Winter Garden? Ceremony and vows in the Atrium? Intimate chats and cocktail parties in the Barn? Anything is possible! These venues can basically hold a wedding wherever you want, it’s all up to the imagination of the couple, which is a huge luxury in itself. This creative freedom is not possible in most wedding venues because everything is fixed in terms of where the wedding should take place. This is not the case at Daalarna Garden, where you can change things up depending on your needs.

Almost any idea can be created at Daalarna Garden; there are no limits to imagination!

Winter weddings are more intimate than summer ones

At Daalarna Garden, there’s no rush, no hurry, no stress, no anxiety. And even more so in the winter, which is the most intimate time of the year! If it’s the magical tranquillity and sparkling harmony you’re looking for, and you’re more interested in a private, intimate ceremony than a wedding party of hundreds, then a winter wedding is truly for you! In our experience, winter weddings can create a safe, intimate atmosphere that many summer weddings don’t or can’t have. Invited guests, close friends, family and the couple can spend more time together, talk more with each other and generally have more quality time together than during summer weddings.

All indoor rooms can be heated during your winter wedding

Of course, these indoor rooms should not be thought of as an ice pit in which everyone shivers. In fact, quite the opposite is true! Here, all the indoor rooms can be heated (or, if you prefer, air-conditioned or cooled), and the Winter Garden has the latest in shading technology for extra protection on those freezing cold days. At Daalarna Garden, you will be not only comfortable but also extremely safe. Well, whether it’s winter or summer, you never have to worry about getting cold or shivering or even the threat of draughts and heavy rain! There are simply no weather conditions that can spoil your big day if you have your winter wedding here.

At Daalarna Garden, you will not only be in a beautiful setting but also in the utmost safety and comfort: you will never be cold or chilly!

Winter activities can be enjoyed more at a winter wedding

Winter weather conditions often allow only a few intimate walks or ice skating, but at Daalarna Garden, there are plenty of winter activities to enjoy! The indoor spaces can be used for almost any kind of wedding entertainment, relaxation and family fun, with the highest level of comfort and technology for the couple and their guests.

This includes a home theatre system with a 6-metre screen and KLIPSCH speakers, professional lighting, sound and blackout technology, a cocktail bar to suit all tastes, a double-sided (i.e. dual) fireplace and, of course, a stylish lounge sofa. So Daalarna Garden has everything you need to have a great time indoors during your wedding without having to focus solely on the outside and the outside spaces.

Winter weddings are more cost-effective

The main wedding season is generally the spring-summer period. After this period, wedding costs gradually decrease, especially in terms of fees for wedding service providers. While decorators, florists, wedding planners and caterers can choose from a wide range of wedding jobs in May, they have much less to do on a winter wedding. Also, in the off-season, they can obtain equipment much more easily and cheaply than in the main season. This is particularly true for the slow weddings at Daalarna Garden, where you can save a lot more on costs in a winter wedding compared to a summer ceremony!
